Judge-in!!!!

Our friend Sohale Kevin put on a Soul Clap and Dance Competition night at Worksound Gallery-he asked 2 of the 3 parts of Rad Summer ladies to be judges at the event-and so we did!

New Voo-Doo

My/everyone's friend Dame Darcy shared with me an affirmation-conjure painting she did for a friend. She asked her friend, whilst he was under hypnosis, what he desired to have fulfilled currently in his life. The various "planets" with words in them being his answers. Darcy used Obama and Mr.T as modern day totems of powerful men who have had success on all levels and came from poverty into wealth.

Speaking of...

Today when Honey was having to relent her powers to what the blazer print wanted to be and finding the new designs that were coming off of the surrender, we were having musings about the act of creating. How magazines fly open, birds land on your finger-someone speaks a word and time slows as that word you needed to finish your lyrics or the picture that completes the thought, arrive in what one secretly envisions how a shaman might perceive a "sign". I said yeah it's like a piece is only complete when it falls out of your hands and gets dirty or crumpled or aligned in this certain way that you could never have perceived, and it becomes the perfect and missing link to the finale of the project. On that note tonight i looked over and this cut out of an African king happened to be on the book cover, I thought this is exactly what I'm talkin'about! Spontaneous Universe created collage, this is why it's cool to surrender!

trying to get these blazer dresses together(among other things). it's hard being a designer! all these things you have to think about...i'm on the deepest learning curve right now. but it's cool. i'm totally in my first band, playing my first show. it's going to be a ruff ride but we'll make it. valentine held the screen while i messed shit up all day. our crew have totally been rolling deep in the november nite. and dudes seriously, carrot beet juice is like some sort of miracle elixir. that is fo sho not even playing. no swine in these woods. only pets xoxoxo

okay so these italians(who live here now) found these mushrooms growing across the street in the parking lot and gave them to us. the photo that they are sitting on is taken by sarah who is having her art opening next door at nationale in a few hours. the awesome clothes are from the amazing una store down the street. the girl modeling the clothes owns the totally rad store that is nationale next door. the emerging painting on our front door is being done by anna who had her art in nationale last month. yess!
